Cranberry Syrup
- 1 12 ounce container fresh cranberries
- 1 cup sugar
- ½ cup water
Cocktail
- 2 ounce gin
- lime wedge
- 1 ounce cranberry syrup
- tonic
- ice
Instructions
- Start by combining the cranberries, sugar and water in a sauce pan. Bring mixture to a simmer and cook uncovered until the cranberries begin popping, a few minutes. Pour mixture in a fine mesh sieve. Press mixture thru the sieve and reserve liquid, and discard solids. Chill cranberry syrup.
- In an old fashioned glass, start with a few large ice cubes, then add gin and a squeeze of lime, ( I like to run the wedge around the rim of the glass first then squeeze into glass. Pour ½ to 1 ounce of cranberry syrup into glass and top with tonic, stir and enjoy!
