Hail Bloody Mary Cocktail
The Super Bowl is this Sunday. A signature cocktail is a must. Why not have a classic Bloody Mary? I like to make my own mix rather than using a store bought mixture that might contain unnecessary sugars and salts. Fire roasted tomatoes and a smoked salt give a smoky depth to the cocktail. I also love using pepper vodka to add more heat.
Throw a Hail Bloody Mary Cocktail to your friends this Sunday and remember… Go Seahawks!

I like to make my own mix rather than using a store bought mixture that might contain unnecessary sugars and salts.
For Mix
- 28 ounce can whole fire roasted tomatoes
- 1 jalapeno, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon dill seeds
- ½ teaspoon celery salt
- 1 teaspoon smoked salt (plain salt can be substituted)
- ½ teaspoon ground pepper
- Juice of ½ a lemon
- Juice of one lime
- 2 tablespoons horseradish
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
For Cocktail
- Pepper vodka
To make mix
- Put the first 8 ingredients (tomatoes through ground pepper) in a saucepan and cook over medium heat for 10 minutes until the tomatoes are heated through and begin to brake down. Set aside to cool slightly.
- Pour the mixture into a blender and puree till smooth. Once blended, pout into a pitcher and add the remaining ingredients, except the vodka. Mix and taste for seasoning. If your mixture is to thick thin it out with a bit of water.
- Chill in fridge till ready.
To make the cocktail
- In a tall glass with ice, pour 2 ounces pepper vodka, top off with the chilled tomato mixture. Garnish with olives, pickles, pepperoncini. You can also rim the glass with a mixture of the smoked salt and celery salt and pepper.
